On Thursday November 1 (All Saint’s Day), the crematorium will host four secular civil ceremonies. For the first time, the 11 a.m.ceremony will be broadcast live on its website for all families who are unable to attend. The ceremonies are open to all families who have organized a cremation at Père Lachaise during the year. More than 1,000 people are expected in the Coupole to experience a moment of collective memory. These secular ceremonies are organized by the Masters of Ceremony at the crematorium. After the ceremony, every attendee will be given a “souvenir bookmark”. And all the families will find the name of the deceased on a remembrance wall.
