40th anniversary of Jim Morrison’s death
Over the weekend fans gathered together in Paris to commemorate the event and honor Jim’s life and work. The commemoration began Saturday evening on July 2 at the Lézard King bar with a gig by the German Doors tribute band Stoned Immaculate.
On July 3, along with a multitude of fans, Ray and Robby visited Jim’s grave in Père Lachaise in the morning. Throughout the day fans sang Doors songs at the graveside, while others hung out at the Renaissance bar located just outside the cemetery on the rue de Repos.
After the cemetery closed, fans dispersed to attend one of the two gigs that evening: Ray and Robby at the Bataclan and The Doors Alive at the Cigale.

Merci beaucoup pour tout le travail, les initiatives et le site.
J’espère ne pas trop vous importuner mais je cherche des personnes de “poids” pour soutenir le projet suivant :
Créer un mur “arts visuels” à la mémoire de Jim Morrison décédé à Paris en 1971.
Il faudrait convaincre les élus et les décider à attribuer un espace défini dans la capitale française.
C’est en voyant les images du mur dédié à John Lennon à Prague que cette idée s’est imposée à mon esprit.
Je crois qu’il y a déjà dans Paris 1 ou 2 silhouettes de Jim Morrison mais je ne pourrai pas donner plus de précision, mes plus grands voyages se situent sur la toile (WWW) où je me promène sans restriction pendant la convalescence d’une jambe cassée.
Ce serait pour faire revivre l’espace d’expression que les fans s’étaient approprié autrefois tout autour de la tombe de Jim Morrison.
J’ai pensé à cela en faisant un parallèle entre le mur de Prague et les anciens graffitis accumulés au fil des ans au père Lachaise. Leur trace a été conservée grâce à de nombreuses photos qui font quelquefois l’objet d’expositions.
C’est heureux que les stèles du Père Lachaise ne soient plus un support graphique mais c’est dommage que cette pratique soit supprimée sur ce sujet précisément.
Maintenant, la tombe est devenue davantage un point de repère historique, un lieu de mémoire et de recueillement. C’est en général le rôle des cimetières.
Le mur ne serait pas à la charge d’un fan club mais pourrait être l’oeuvre d’un groupe de peintres et ferait l’objet d’ une inauguration sous forme de performance artistique évènementielle en musique, bien sûr, pour les 40 ans de la mort de Jim Morrison, le 3 juillet 2011. Ensuite le mur serait livré à la rue, aux touristes, aux écoles d’art, aux peintres et à chacun de nous…
J’aimerais beaucoup trouver un écho auprès des personnes capables de porter ce projet. Je sais que ce n’est pas le bout du monde pour un collectif efficace mais pour une petite artiste isolée en province, c’est une véritable utopie.

Fourty years have past; time is becoming most condensed in regards to the people still alive who will remember Jim for what he is, to what he has become. This is a time in which is holding onto life the strongest, for soon the eyes will grey and people will pass! Celebrate now the remembrance of James Douglas Morrison! It will pass to a better speaker of the future.

40th anniversary of Jim Morrison’s death. His fans from all over the World are celebrating his life and his massive contribution to music. They even launched a website called the Jim Morrison Project. This site is an audio and visual anthology detailing Jim Morrison’s life through his music, poetry, films, artwork and spoken words.
